Balochistan: Decision to Empower Special Police for Monitoring Attendance in Government Offices

Quetta (Balochistan News Desk) The Government of Balochistan has taken an important decision to improve discipline in government departments and address the issue of absenteeism, approving in principle the empowerment of the Special Branch Police to monitor attendance in all civil government departments.

According to sources, under this decision, all civil departments including Health, Education, B&R, Municipal Corporation, Public Health Engineering, Irrigation, Fisheries, Agriculture and others will fall under this monitoring scope.

Government sources stated that the aim of this move is to control increasing absenteeism, negligence and poor performance in offices so that better and timely services can be provided to the public.

As per the planned framework, Special Branch officials will conduct daily visits to various offices and field units and check the attendance of officers and staff. This will include everyone from senior officials to lower-grade employees.

It was further stated that the Special Branch will prepare a comprehensive daily report containing details of attendance, absentees, latecomers and overall performance, which will be directly submitted to the Chief Minister of Balochistan.

According to the government, this decision is expected to improve the attendance system in government offices and significantly enhance public service delivery, especially in key sectors such as health and education.
