Over Rs 769 million released for universities in Balochistan

Quetta (Balochistan News) – The Government of Balochistan has released over 769 million rupees for the payment of salaries and pensions of teachers and employees in public universities.

According to the Finance Department, a total of 769,479,937 rupees has been released for the salaries and pensions of April and May 2026, which will be distributed among various public sector universities and their sub-campuses across the province.

Documents show that approximately 249.6 million rupees have been allocated for the University of Balochistan, 139.3 million rupees for the Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences, 127.1 million rupees for the Sardar Bahadur Khan Women’s University, and over 69.6 million rupees for the Lasbela University of Agriculture, Water and Marine Sciences.

Similarly, funds have also been released for the University of Turbat, University of Loralai, Mir Chakar Khan Rind University Sibi, University of Gwadar, Bolan University of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Makran Panjgur, and other institutions.

The Finance Department has instructed that the released funds must be disbursed in accordance with financial rules and the Grant-in-Aid Rules 2022, otherwise the concerned institutions will be held responsible.
