Bannu terror attack foiled, timely police action forces militants to retreat

Peshawar (Balochistan News) Thanks to timely and effective strategy of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police, a terrorist attack in Bannu was successfully foiled.

According to police, at around 1:30 at night, a large number of terrorists attacked Police Post Mazanga; however, security personnel immediately responded with full force and repelled the attack. The encounter continued until Fajr, during which terrorists suffered heavy losses.

After the incident, under the leadership of DPO Bannu Yasir Afridi, fresh police contingents from the Police Lines reached the site, while other security agencies also took control of the area.

During a joint search operation, blood traces and weapons and equipment left behind by terrorists were recovered, including bandoliers, ladders, and shoes.

During the exchange of fire, Constable Fidaullah sustained minor injuries and was immediately provided medical treatment.

IG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zulfiqar Hameed praised the bravery of the personnel and said that terrorists carry out cowardly attacks to target civilians, but their end will be humiliating.
