Peshawar (Balochistan News) In Orakzai district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, severe devastation has been witnessed due to recent rains, where at the location of Mushti Mela, heavy rains triggered flash floods that engulfed dozens of shops and residential houses.
Due to the floodwater, several vehicles and motorcycles were also swept away in the flow, while many areas were severely affected.
On the other hand, in Lahore and other areas of Punjab, rain was also recorded in the morning, due to which low-lying areas were submerged and citizens faced difficulties.
According to the Meteorological Department, most districts of the province are likely to remain dry; however, in Chitral, Upper and Lower Dir, Bajaur, Swat, Buner, Malakand, Shangla, and Kohistan, strong winds and thundershowers are expected.
Similarly, in Torghar, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Khyber, Mohmand, Kurram, Orakzai and Waziristan, partly cloudy weather and chances of rain have also been forecast.
During the past 24 hours, rain was recorded in several districts including Peshawar, Nowshera, Mardan, Kohat, Chitral, Swat, Dir and Kohistan, while strong dusty winds also blew in the plains. In Peshawar, the maximum wind speed was recorded at 37 kilometers per hour.
According to the Meteorological Department, 18 mm rainfall was recorded in Cherat, 11 mm in Kalam, 9 mm in Chitral, and up to 4 mm in Peshawar.
