Islamabad (Balochistan News) Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has formally launched the “Apna Ghar Scheme” and announced that the upcoming federal budget will include further major relief measures for the public.
Speaking at a ceremony in the federal capital, the Prime Minister said the government is preparing to introduce significant public welfare initiatives, which will be announced in the next budget.
He said that under the “Apna Ghar Scheme,” citizens will be provided loans of up to 10 million rupees on easy terms so they can build their own homes. The scheme will be implemented across all provinces, including Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
According to the Prime Minister, in the first phase of the project, financing will be provided for 50,000 houses, for which 321 billion rupees have been allocated. Overall, the target is to construct 500,000 houses over the next four years.
He said the government’s goal is to ensure dignified housing for every citizen, as owning a home is a basic need and a responsibility of the state.
The Prime Minister added that the total volume of the scheme will reach 3.2 trillion rupees, and facilities will also be provided for house construction on plots up to 10 marla. He assured that he will personally review the progress of the project on a monthly basis.
He further said that banks participating in the scheme will be encouraged for their performance, and institutions showing outstanding results will be awarded honors on August 14.
The Prime Minister stated that this project will not only boost the construction sector but will also contribute to industrial growth and overall economic development.
