Controversy escalates over Jimmy Kimmel’s satire, White House calls for dismissal

New York (Showbiz Desk) A satirical joke by renowned comedian Jimmy Kimmel has landed him in serious controversy.

According to international media reports, Kimmel referred to First Lady Melania Trump as a “future widow” in a program joke, which reportedly angered U.S. President Donald Trump and Melania Trump.

Following the remark, the White House has demanded Kimmel’s dismissal, while Disney’s television licenses are said to be at risk, and the U.S. Federal Communications Commission has launched an investigation against Disney.

Responding to the controversy, Jimmy Kimmel clarified that his intention was only to make light-hearted satire about the 23-year age difference between the President and his wife.

Meanwhile, actor George Clooney defended Kimmel, stating that he is a comedian and his jokes should not be taken so seriously.

On the other hand, Disney has decided to submit a legal response to the Federal Communications Commission.
