Sri Lanka (Sports Desk): Sri Lanka Cricket President Shammi Silva is expected to resign later this week, paving the way for major changes within the board.
According to Sri Lankan media, Shammi Silva will step down along with his executive committee, after which an interim administration will take over the affairs of the board.
Reports suggest that Erin Wikramaratne, who is associated with the banking sector, is being considered a strong candidate to assume new responsibilities.
Sources indicate that last week there were also reports of the government advising Shammi Silva to step down from his position.
Media reports further state that Shammi Silva has faced various allegations in recent years, which has increased pressure on him.
