Islamabad (Commerce Desk) Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan met Tajik Ambassador Sharifzada Yusuf Toir, where detailed discussions were held on promoting trade, transit cooperation, and bilateral economic relations between the two countries.
The meeting emphasized the development of regional trade, establishment of an integrated trade corridor, and improvement of the logistics system. The Federal Minister for Commerce said that modern logistics hubs and an improved transport system can further strengthen trade links in the region.
He also proposed organizing a business forum to enhance ties between the private sectors and highlighted cooperation with China as important for improving regional connectivity. It was also agreed to promote direct links between export and import institutions.
The Tajik ambassador appreciated Pakistan’s efforts for regional connectivity and said that Tajikistan has the capacity to supply surplus energy to Pakistan, while there are also vast opportunities for aluminum trade and industrial cooperation.
He expressed commitment to making the Joint Economic Commission more effective and maintaining close and continuous engagement between Pakistan and Tajikistan.
