Shreyas Iyer’s brilliant form, Punjab Kings top the points table

Mumbai (Sports Desk) In the Indian Premier League 2026, Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer is in outstanding form and has led his team to the top position on the points table. He is scoring runs at an average of 70 and a strike rate of 186 in the current season.

According to Indian media, Shreyas Iyer said in a statement that in the past he faced heavy criticism over his weakness against short-pitched deliveries, which forced him to improve his performance.

He said that repeated criticism from critics strengthened his determination and pushed him to work on his technique and overcome his shortcomings.

Indian media also reported that recently Shreyas Iyer hit a brilliant six against Mumbai fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, giving a strong response to critics.

Shreyas Iyer said that he now plays against short-pitched bowling with an aggressive approach instead of a defensive one and is focused on maintaining consistency in his performance.

He credited his success to hard work and mental strength, saying that he practices daily, faces hundreds of deliveries, and continuously works to improve his technique.
