Vinod Khanna’s Shift to Spirituality at Peak of Film Career, Simple Life at Osho Ashram Surprised Everyone

Mumbai (Showbiz Desk): Renowned Indian actor Vinod Khanna left the film industry at the peak of his career in 1982 and adopted the path of spirituality, moving to the Osho Ashram in Oregon, USA. His decision shocked the film industry and his fans.

According to Indian media, Vinod Khanna had said in a press conference that he wanted to move away from the pressures of worldly life and turn towards inner peace and meditation.

In an interview, he stated that he had become tired of mental stress, anger, and continuous negative thoughts, and realized that adopting a completely spiritual life was necessary.

His wife Kavita Khanna said that Vinod Khanna had been interested in spirituality since a young age and often skipped shooting to attend religious gatherings. Later, family tragedies further deepened his spiritual inclination.

She added that even during his stay at the ashram, he was not completely disconnected from film activities and lived a very simple life, spending time in gardening and meditation.

According to his son Akshaye Khanna, he did not fully understand his father’s decision in childhood, but over time he accepted it as a personal and spiritual choice.

It is worth noting that Vinod Khanna returned to the film industry after a five-year break in 1987 and later became part of several successful films.
