Yami Gautam studied the Quran deeply for her role in the film “Haq”: Director reveals

Karachi (Showbiz Desk) Bollywood film “Haq” director Suparn Verma has revealed that actress Yami Gautam studied the Holy Quran extensively to better portray her character Shazia Bano.

In an interview with a British media outlet, he said that during the preparation of her role, Yami Gautam spent around four months understanding the Quran so that she could better grasp the psychology and background of the character.

According to the director, Quranic references have also been included in the film, and it concludes with an important Arabic word.

Suparn Verma said that the aim was to remove misconceptions and misinformation and make the story more realistic and informative. He added that significant time was spent understanding Islamic laws and social aspects.

He also said that the film highlights women’s rights and social issues, showing that even today women continue to face various challenges.

It is worth noting that “Haq” is based on a true incident-inspired story, starring Yami Gautam and Emraan Hashmi in lead roles.
